Phone numbers in Probably Stolen are four or five digits printed on business cards. They differ in every save. So if you came looking for a list you can copy, it does not exist.

How they appear: a customer or contact hands you a business card with a short number on it, and it drops straight into your phone book.

Recorded runs show numbers like 8815, 8376 and 51189. The key point is that they are randomised per save: the same Joe Wild is 8815 in one save and 8376 in another. That is why searching for Probably Stolen phone numbers yields nothing usable. The digits carry no meaning across saves.

The Wild’s Network menu has three tabs: Favors, Important and Networking. Some entries are still locked in the demo, so do not assume everything is available on day one.

What a call costs

At least three currencies: favours, credits and cooldown days.

Favours come from day-to-day business and faction dealings. Cooldowns are real time, counted in days.

Using the phone, and fixing it

  • Quick-dial from the phone book connects instantly when the contact will answer and skips the greeting.
  • The keypad now plays button sounds and shows the pressed key, same as clicking.
  • Hanging up: End resets the phone to Ready and stops ringing and dial tones. Closing the phone with Esc actually hangs up, so reopening it no longer shows a stale or cut-off conversation.
  • Before going out: phone windows no longer stay on screen when you leave for after-hours activities.
  • Battery: the phone can die. Recorded runs show a “Your phone died” state. The developer has never published capacity or charging details.

Three claims to ignore

  • There is no cross-save number list. If a page offers a “complete number table”, close it.
  • The full contact roster has never been published. Only the contacts that recur in recorded runs and have a clear function are listed here.
  • Some contacts only appear after a reputation or story threshold. Do not assume they are available from the start.
